Interesting setup, good stock ratio, but the pipings and gadgets simply confuses me.
I have a few questions: 1)Is it a continuos overflow system, whereby water drips and flows out continuosly? 2)Where does the water from the submersible pump pumped into? Is it pumped to the boy filter (black box on top left)? 3)Where are the filter medias,if any? 4)The vertical pipe at the left of the tank, is that an overflow pipe? 5)Is the 'overflow out' drained off by the floor trap or is it collected into the pail? I love the idea of a tap above the tank, and the drain off below on the floor. This setup has to be one of the easiet to manage when it come to water change. |

1) Yes
2) I have a standard sump setup where a pump in the sump will pump to water up to the tank. The pump you see in the tank is actually used to pump water to my other tank outside the garden at specific intervals to skim the water surface of the other tank. The blakc box is just a std overhead filter which I had lying around and I'm trying to use if more as a mechanical filter but the pump is not powerful enough to do a good job. Thinking of putting a more heavy duty ohf to get a wet/dry filtration setup 3) Filter media mainly Jap mat and some coral chip 4) Yes 5) It collects on the pail but if it overflows, then it just gets drained away Water change has never been so easy for me |

Water change has never been so easy for me I suppose you need not perform any water change, this being a continuos overflow system. Let's see if I can fully digest your setup: 1)The submersible pump in the tank and the boy filter (black box) is to be discounted from the system. They are in the pics solely to confuse you. 2)The blue tub below is where the filter medias are housed. There is a submersible pump within the blue tub to pump water into the main tank. 3)Filtered water from tub is pumped into tank, whereby it overflows via the vertical pipe back into the blue tub. 4)Since water is continuosly fed into the tank via the tap, the rate of overflow is greater than the rate where water is fed into the tank, and this amount of water is channelled back into the blue tub where there is another overflow pipe from the blue tub that goes into the pail. 5)When pail get full, it overflows into the floor trap. Tio boh? One last question provided that my guess above is correct: How do you deal with the chlorine/chloramine in a continuos overflow system? |

Tio lah
If you notice at the top right hand corner, I have an autofeeder with my antichlorine bottle attached so it automatically dumps a few drops every few hours |

Impressive setup...my dream to have one of these really.
How big is the tank though? And how much did you pay for this complete system? Thanks in advance (I think you would have to PM answer to question 2, paiseh)! |

This setup is virtually maintenance free, with the exception of probably manual cleaning of the front side of the tank to rid the algaes. |

What kinda Antichlorine are you using? In this case, I assume it will require a lot of Antichlorine. Good job my friend.

Thanks in advance (I think you would have to PM answer to question 2, paiseh)! Its a 6ft tank. Cost is about 2k if I remember correctly What kinda Antichlorine are you using? In this case, I assume it will require a lot of Antichlorine. Good job my friend. Using Genesis. It does not require that much, of depending on how much I am letting the water trickle in and sometimes I just add a bit more manually just to be safe. Yep very nice setup and gorgeous ryukins. What is your lighting system? I've got 2 150W metal halide lamps and also 2x55W PL lights which I don't normally use |

Cool.
Where is the pump located? It should preferably be at the other end of the bakki shower. |
