1)
Of late, some members have reported experiencing errors while accessing certain pages (eg Portal). The most likely cause of this which I can think of, is perhaps due to our recent shift to a new host. The change of host might have altered website pointing. As browsers (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome) adopt the cookie mechanism, your browsers might have saved the temp/data (corrupted) files which points to location at the old host. To best cater for this problem, pls clear your browser's cookies. Disclaimer: You will lose your auto login function to all pages that you have set password to. Meaning to say, you'll be prompted to login to those websites (ID and password). Goldrush has posted a link on how to do it here: http://www.rafflesgold.com/forums/index.ph...ost&p=61802 For your convenience: For IE, click on "Tools\Internet Options". Under "Browsing History", click the <Delete...> button. Make sure every box is checked. PS: Not necessarily, for IE7 and above, you might want to uncheck "Preserve Favorites Website data" 2) Another common problem is error while accessing the Portal. This is due to the session-based address that you have previously bookmarked. This is the "true link" of the Portal, pls change your bookmark address for your convenience: http://www.rafflesgold.com/forums/index.php?act=portal (session-based link looks longer than this) Or perhaps save another bookmark of our default forum index here: http://www.rafflesgold.com/forums/index.php?act=idx (so that whenever Portal fails, you can still access our forums) 3) Lastly, one suggestion: Perhaps it is a good idea to have an alternate browser installed on your PC. You see, whenever Internet Explorer fails (often happens after version upgrade), you can still access the internet using maybe Google Chrome or Mozilla FireFox. And in the case where both Internet Explorer and your alternate browser fail, you'll know that there's a problem with that website, not your problem |
