Was at aquastar yesterday. Saw them selling a device for ridiculous price.

Some so called floating ring to keep your floating food in one small area. $7!!!!!!!

The idea is not bad but the manufaturer is stupid. I can make one with the exact same function for less than 40 cents and I can vary the diameter to my liking!

Here's how.
Get a air tube (15-20 cm) 5 cents?, air tube to tube connector 20 cents?, a suction holder 10 cents?

i guess you smart hobbyist doesn't require me to explain how to use these tools right??

the suction is to prevent the ring from floating away.
tadah!!! good_very.gif

you can spend the $6.60 buying a packet of hikari lionhead! and then you realised that this is a sinking type food!!!!!

Wow choco, you are a threat to these rip-off artistes who enjoy preying on unaware stupid hobbyists. Tomorrow these scamming businessmen will plant assassins near your house... I can't believe got people actually buy such lousy products.

Maybe can also create a sinking type to group all the sinking pellets in one area to prevent the pellets from being sucked into the canister filters.... laugh.gif
I chop the patent for this product first hor! mad1.gif
Hikari might probably want to buy the rights from me! tongue.gif

I DON'T BELIEVE THIS!

I was just thinking of going to AquaStar to buy that floating ring! See ah... am trying out a new pellets but they float and quickly get sucked into my IOS's overflow. So I recall I seeing that cool gadget on sale at AquaStar! I did thot of using a plastic lid on those styrofoam coffee cup by cuting out the center portion... but that would be so ugly....

Lucky I have you. biggrin.gif

Thanks for the tip.

[update]

Made one leow.

But it doesn't work! mad.gif Somehow pellets tend to gather near the rim, and when my goldfish reach up to eat them, they will push up the ring and the pellets escape! biggrin.gif See, 5 of them already did.

Any more ideas? sad.gif

Hey HB, where U got your L-shape connector from har ?

That is the difference, mine is the old type ( brown color one ) blush.gif

And your tube seems larger than mine, is it the normal air pump tube or is yours larger ?

If you have a chance to go QH, you can find several type of tubes and connectors in the mart there.

Kekeke. No lah. Hikari Chappy is so cartoon looking... biggrin.gif

I'm trying out the Japanese TetraGold pellets in a pink bottle. Allan learnt about this product at the gathering mentioned by a few bros who find it can enhance the red colour....

It's only $3 at C328.
