Dear Bros, the following is an excerpt which i have copied(please pardon any typo error).
Go to www.miraclekoifood.com.On the left look for F.A.Q.'s--highlight it then go to miscellaneous.Go to last paragraph ,of that page, 8 lines down. quote".......The Clearwater Filter gives you 100% filtration all the time. After 90 days you can throw your PH test kit away if you have set the PH where you wanted it in this time period.Keep your hands out of the water.Use gloves(long ones).Don't over feed or you will have to clean the gravel which disturbs the ammonia and it will raise a little causing your nitrites & PH to be disturbed.DON'T make water changes. The water in your aquarium is better than the city sells you to drink.Just add the evaporated water back to your aquarium." end quote sieow liao sieow liao, 1.Does the nitrate really no longer accumulate?PH,surprise that it can maintain itself!!! 2.Hey,this is koi/gold fish we r talking abt, don't they go round the bottom sucking n spitting at the gravel? (looks like kicking themselves) 3.Don't fishes secrete growth inhibiting pheromone?n where does these go?the stocking level must be very low, right? Oh yah, they did mention somewhere that the thickness of the gravel should not exceed 7" for FW n SW. COMMENTS PLEASE!!! |

QUOTE(RBT @ Thu 01 Jul 2004 03:56 PM) Keep your hands out of the water.Use gloves(long ones). Tell me what is this about ? Can't I use bare hand in the water ? QUOTE(RBT @ Thu 01 Jul 2004 03:56 PM) Don't over feed might as well dun keep fish. QUOTE(RBT @ Thu 01 Jul 2004 03:56 PM) or you will have to clean the gravel which disturbs the ammonia and it will raise a little causing your nitrites & PH to be disturbed. doesn't that sounds like a denitrator ... Perhaps this company can also sell you oil of snake! If not I will sell you some for half the price of this system.

actually, the product is possible. how neh?
1. feed very little. so very little waste. 2. Use denitrifying sand bed theory. use thick gravel layer for denitrification of the little nitrate produced. 3. Use zeolite as part of the gravel bed to absorb ammonia. no ammonia = no nitrification = no need worry too much abt pH drop. 4. Use some form of buffer as part of gravel bed. See, very easy to get stable pH and no need to change water right (doesn't work on a permanent basis ah... too bad) |
