What is the missing element in keeping ranchu indoors compared to outdoor ponds or farms?Seems to be growing slower than those kept in outdoor ponds.

QUOTE(nobnoba @ Wed 25 Aug 2004 10:56 pm) HB, no bio filtration u said? so u ll let the goldfish poops all over the place? hold the poops for a week and then change the water? that ll make the tank dirty, no? If by "dirty" you mean the ugly sight of the poos, yah... you'll see them lying around. I think it's not hard to get used to the sight. In fact, it provides a visual indication to the state of health of your fish. They are short and chunky if the fish is healthy and not overfed. But if by "dirty" you meant the water parameters is bad, don't forget that ammonia is not caused by decaying poos alone -- goldfish pees invisibly too, and a "clean" tub isn't necessary free of ammonia. |
