Are you guys still feeding your goldfish with green peas? Is there any special reasons for doing that?

I'm still feeding green peas regularly to my fishes in clear water. Seeing them pass out chunky green poos make it worth while. the fishes are noticably more active for the following days.
I recall the first time I read about feeding green peas was at an American goldfish forum. The advice was to try feeding goldfish with early stages of SB disease to help them purge stuffs in their tummy. I documented how my Ryukin seemingly recovered from SB after feeding it peas. Since then I hang on to this practice. No harm whatsoever at all. I don't see a need to feed peas to fishes kept in green water though; tiny weeny algae is even better. Tofu? Doesn't it turn bad quickly in water? |
