Below is my pocket guide to Toxicity of Ammonium & pH levels.
It is POINTLESS to know what is your tank's water Ammonia level without knowing the pH value. Suppose your ammonia level is 1.0 ppm. That's OK for all fishes, if and only if the pH value is 7.0. If the pH value is above 8.8 (typical of green water), the same ammonia level of 1.0 ppm is fatal to all fishes!
