Propose brew green water in 2ft tank project
1. 23.5" x 11.5" x 13" fiveplan brand tank 2. 51.81 litres of water (13.71 gallons of water), around 12.5" depth of water 3. 2ft DIY PL lights with 2 36W OSRAM tubes and e-ballast 4. Simple sponge filter to collect goldfish poos 5. Wooden air block for aeration 6. 2 4.5" to 6" ranchus Is it possible to brew green water in 2ft tank rather than tub? I've all the equipment with me except the PL lights which I've yet to collect from a bro who help DIY PL lights. Will switch on the PL lights non-stop for 3-4 days or until the green water turn dark green? |

hi all,
to all the sifus out there, a great thank you! dennis - i will test the water on sunday before i change the water, than parameters will be be at its worst. cyberet - noted your observation. will look into splitting the stock into another tub. hb - noted your diagonsis. will chk the ammonia level tonight when i get home. the pump is mainly to aerate the tank. even though i've got a rena 2 outlet air pump running in the tank. so bubbling is constant. as the water evaporates slowly, the spray becomes very strong producing even more bubbles. the light penetrates the glass tank easily. i can tell that from the side of the tank. at every water change i put in 1 Tbspn of soda bicarbonate to buffer the pH. highest it has gone to is pH7.98 or .99, never hitting pH8.0. I've got a electronic pH controller hooked onto my aro tanks, so it is just a matter to transfering the probe to the goldfish tank. the "cracking" looks like.....how do i describe it?. the head of the goldfish is rough and undulating with ridges and valleys right? what is happening is, in the valleys the color is lighter and the color at the ridges and plateaus are darker, at times speckled red, yes red spots! so to me it looks like a crackled surface. it is not as when i got it, with it full solid color. kindly advise. a visit to my place in marsiling by any of the sifus would be very much appreciated. square_guy - noted the stock number. thanks for the SHOCK........only 2 3"+ goldfish. i will monitor the situation. i've got a toyogo tub, think the dimensions are 24x16x12". will set that up to hold the smaller 5 ranchus ranging from 2.5" to 3.5" inc tails. that tub has a diy toyogo tub ohf holding 250 bioballs; with a 20+ litre capcity. water level on the ohf is only 3.5" of which half is filled with blue green biomat. comments and advise please. THANKS guys!! |
