I have kept goldfish for 2 years.
I started the usual ( well for the uneducated uk ) way of keeping the fish. small tank...too many fish etc........... I have learnt so much from this site. I have a 50 us gallon tank. It housed5 goldfish , white clouds , Hillstream loach. It also had gravel , plastic plant , bogwood etc..... I strugglled and so did the goldfish. thanks to you guys i realise what is involved in rearing goldfish ( thanks to goldrush....cp....the matrix.....to name a few ) my tank is now bare...water changes bigger and more regular.....and the fish are thriving more than i have ever seem. So all I want to say is a big thanks to this site and its members you all have helped me enormously |

QUOTE(The Matrix @ Wed, 26 Oct 2005 1:19 pm) stooeygee, it is okay to shelf the "designed" tank for now. Allow yourself more time to understand the basic before moving the deco back to the tank. Nice to have, tough to maintain. A simple design can make an impact and enhance your appreciation of Goldfish. Just some decorated tanks .... But please take note that those pictures were taken from competition/show. For that day only. The owners certainly do not keep their fishes that way. Matrix, the intention to share ideas of the fun on goldfish keeping is good. But this would probably cause some confusion to other newbies who have started to believe in bare tank concept |
