"Coelacanth" (pronounced as see-la-kanth) is a prehistoic fish that existed 400 millions years ago. Interestingly, a few were caught by fishermen in the last century.

They were mostly found Comoro Islands. About 4 were caught off Sulawesi, Indonesia.

I was watching Channel U in which one taiwanese artiste goes to Indonesia in search of this fish. I was laughing in disbelief that they actually had a budget for such mission impossible. hysterical.gif

Nope, not faked. I saw one video where the fish was swimming and the video was as clear as that one. In fact, if u go to dinofish.com and look at the tab on the left where it got the coelacanth picture, that's taken from the video.

They're not as rare as you think. It's just they live in places too hard too reach and the whole "dinofish" and "living fossil" hype that ppl think the fish is super-rare or sumtin rolleyes.gif
