i've search through this forum and have no luck finding any info about fish's age. I was wondering how can we tell fish's age depending on their size?? Is the any standard size = particular age?. I assume different bread such as Ryukin and ranchu may have slight different in size. Ranchu would be slightly longer than ryukin. How can me compare the two fishes and tell their age?? --> (apple vs lemon)

Yep, scales are not an accurate way of determining age. The most accurate is by using the fish's otolith (ear-bone). Dunno how they do it but it's gotta be done in the lab. U'll get a very accurate result with that particular method.
