Absolutely love the sakura. The curvature of the back is very close to my ideal. This fish will look phenomenal when finished. The calico, for me, is not as pleasing. The body and finnage do not seem to be balanced, and it may just be the angle, but the caudal seems a bit lacking as well, though the dorsal on this piece is very nice.
Off the topic from your fish, which for all my complaints, are still far better than the vast majority of what we get here in the states, I feel that the oraXryu cross makes lumpy, graceless fish that may look promising when young, but tend to look messy and unbalanced when mature. That's just me though. Personally, I am not a fan of the style of oranda that is currently in vogue in Thailand right now either, which is what the b/r calico reminds me of. |
