Green Water: Not Telling
Country: USA

I have one of those water filters where you are suppose to replace the activated carbon filter cartridge every month. Rather than go out and buy one can I just stuff the area up with sponge to get out the particulate matter? I have a tetra whisper ex40 filter. I also hear that activated carbon just prevents the water from getting yellow. Anyways, will this sponge method work?
