Hello everybody! My name is Andrea, and I have been reading through Rafflesgold for a while now with great interest. At the moment I am compiling a list with goldfish clubs for the Goldfish Society of America, and that includes US clubs as well as international ones. The list will appear as a 2-part article in their Sept/Oct, as well as the Nov/Dec. edition.
The list so far is over 300 clubs long, but I always have the feeling I miss a few. So, if anybody here knows of a club in their neighborhood, please feel free to drop me a little note and let me know their websites or contact phone numbers or email addresses. US clubs are easily found, the trouble starts with anything outside the US, Australia, Canada and the UK. Thank you so very much for any help! Kind regards Andrea a.k.a. Ranchugirl |

In Singapore, there are 2 well-known clubs:
Ozeki Club (Top View Ranchus) http://geocities.com/ozekiranchuclubsg/ Vermillion/Green And Gold (Fancy Goldfish) http://www.geocities.com/greenngoldsg/ There's a new club called the Vanda Ranchu Club but I have no idea if they are registered. http://vandaranchuclub.com/about.htm |

Vanda Ranchu Club,as the name implies,is formed by a group of local hobbyists interested in ranchus.(Top View Ranchu as well as Side View Ranchu).
I am no longer a member of the club. |

QUOTE(Ranchugirl @ Thu, 13 Oct 2005 8:25 am) Hi Andrea, Yes, Vanda (original name: Vanda Miss Joaquim ) is a species of Orchid and it is our national (Singapore) flower. More info here: http://www.nparks.gov.sg/plants/van/pla-van-van.shtml This is the reason why they name it Vanda, I guess. |

Extracted from Vanda Ranchu Club website:
"Vanda Ranchu Club (SG) was formed in 2005 by a group of enthusiastic ranchu hobbyists in Singapore. The word ¡°Vanda¡± was chosen from our national flower, Vanda Miss Joaquim* to reflect our true Singaporean identity. Just like our national flower, we aim to achieve the unique distinction of being THE ranchu club in Singapore. " |

QUOTE(tosachu @ Thu, 13 Oct 2005 10:22 am) Fully agreed tosachu .Kudo to the organiser and the comittee that brought this event into existence. Infact I did write a retrospective report on the above competition back then Here's the thread http://www.rafflesgold.com/forums/index.ph...wtopic=2102&hl= It was through the above competition that I got to meet and know the RG guys for the first time. That was something nostalgic However after the competition the club seems to revert into lull gear.Perhaps gearing up for next year event???????? |
