Can i use a overhead filter? will it be sufficient for my 3 ryukins in my 40gallon tank? what should the media placement be like? The filter looks like the grey one in the pic below:

Should be OK ; bigger would be better. Pump capacity need to be around 700 litres per hour.

what should media placement be? is filter wool and about 1kg of bio rings sufficient?
