Has anyone ever heard of this absolutely horrific practice? I was reading an article in a fishkeeping magazine from Singapore and they were describing how to do it and were even selling a kit. They are also cutting the tails off of certain Cichlid varieties to make tham more visually appealing. In America people are really making a push to ban these horrific looking fish from coming over to our shops, and to also ban them internationally as well. Europe is also making a push.I am going to Malaysia next month and if I ever see anyone doing it I will probably take that needle and jam it in their eye repeatedly and risk the consequences. There are beautiful fish coming out of Asia, especially their goldfish, but is this considered acceptable and a common practice in Asia?? I hope not. Heres the link to the article.

My goodness! I thought only peaceful goldfish-lovers visited here. Beware of animal-rights zealots because many of them are emotionally unstable. Google "animal rights violence" to read about some of their activities.

I could see how that would taken the wrong way. And no I am not an emotionally unstable animal rights zealot, the needle in the eye is figurative of course. That does not however excuse this horrific practice which should not be overlooked by anyone. Being that I am a peaceful goldfish lover(fanatic is more like it) I get pretty angry at people who defile our passion by injecting fish with dye and cut off their tails. I will always fight for the defenseless.

Common thing here in china, with horrible patterns of hearts for valentines day or flowers for Chinese new year, mostly on big albino fish (oscars, etc), the worst ones are the small fish who go through dye baths even their eyes get coloured in weird oranges and greens.
They get pretty sick and their flesh is literally rotting, not nice at all.
