The purpose of the show is probably to show some kind of a "WONDER".... that the fish can still stay alive even part of its meat has been eaten.

To the chef, it goes to show "oh how fresh my sushi is! " nicetry2.gif

Looking at the show there seems no sympathy for the poor fish seeing it's meat being eaten away or the pain it was undergoing. Japanese... always expect this kind of thing from them hmm.gif

Ya... looks like a ST (Siamese Tiger Fish)... ST is a kind of food fish in Thailand tongue.gif

"Japs are weird and cruel"

"Japanese... always expect this kind of thing from them"

Guys.

What is going on? : rusure.gif A little bit of Japan bashing on a website that "worships" Japanese goldfish. Come on.

Buffelrug. Maybe you are not aware, but Japs is a highly derogatory way of referring to Japanese people. You let yourself down by using it. hmm.gif

Hahaha... ironic isn't it?

That is sophisticated society by the way. But one must admit they do lots of things that awe the world. Like I said, expect them to do some unexpected stuffs (sometimes on the negative side).

I dont understand whats wrong with it. Dont we all eat fish....what wrong with eating something you hand picked, knowing its healthy & fresh.

Unlike going to MAC'ers and eating unhealthy processed meat.

Japanese people have high life expectancy and least depressed people in the world. All thanks to their diet. A society i admire a lot and there are many other statistics which other countries should look forward to.

Its only naive to point fingers and laugh at others.

Ignorance is fatel

Well, that's subjective. Some people find nothing wrong with the video.

I am a aquatic hobbyist and at the same time, I love to to eat fish and sushi. But I find having to eat the meat off a fish while it is still alive (and looking at you eating its flesh), an inhumane thing to do. There is no call to go to that extend to show customer that the sushi they are eating is fresh. The fish has been eaten off both sides of its flesh, why don't they just kill it?? rusure.gif The fish can't say it but I would think it is undergoing a painful torment.

PS: And I have watched horror movies like "SAW". Seeing yourself cutting your own limbs off is simply a sadistic thing to do.

Well I agree that's subjective and relative topic. You know for Asian we usually cook our fishes with the fish head still intact and I am surprise to realize that to the westerners it's offensive and prohibitive. I have friends telling me it's barbaric and uncivilize having the fish eyes staring at you while you enjoying its meat. Imagine some of us even goug and eat into the eyes.
Next time while eating the fish, stare hard at the fish eyes and see whether you still have the appitite. yes.gif

Oh and by the way, it's not a Tiger fish, it is a saltwater food fish here in Japan. I think it's called "Ishidai".

Wow... It has more than 90% resemblance to a ST!! There's even a strip at the eye. The pelvic fins looks different though

A ST

Ishidai
(Of course as the meat on both sides have been eaten away, we can't compare the strips rusure.gif )

Maybe it is ST's cousin living in the sea biggrin.gif

If you cook TVR or Tosakin in curry, it might taste the same as curry fish head biggrin.gif But it is how you eat it... point is... don't eat part of it, then throw the poor fish back into the water and let it die of pain... watching you eat its flesh in curry and say "your meat taste fresh and yummy". wacko.gif
