I suspect most of us keep Ranchu in our tank.
But myself have Ryukins and Orandas too. Tell us which varieties of goldfish you currently have at home. |

Just one oranda right now that's driving me absolutely NUTS...but I'm sure my list will gradually get bigger as I find more nice ones around here.
Oh and btw I kept goldfish, all varieties, since I was 10 so I'm not new to this, everytime I say I have one fish people think it's my first fish LOL However I don't consider myself a good goldfish keeper yet and I'm still educating myself. |

BTW, I really head over heels with short tail ryukins... they are my favourites... currently I've got about 30 of them... |

QUOTE(CyberET @ Fri 20 Feb 2004 12:06 AM) hehe.. don't.. i heard they grow big quite fast If I recall correctly, the 6 inches long ones (with a super nice ranchu tails) costs just $8. Luckily the LFS old man told me to buy at least ten wakins - "...they look nicer in a group like koi do." I gave up the idea of keeping just one after that. |

Was at Yung Feng (aquafauna) and saw some long-tails ranchu.
Also saw one Jikin but it's terrible looking; very coarse scales and the tails looks deformed. It costs $48 only, however. |

It costs $48 only, however. Those "long-tails" ranchus are actually deformed celestial eyes. Ranchu has a shorter and fatter body! Those Jikins are the real thing though... but low quality craps. |
