Cheers & Thanks in advance!!!! i always think that top view ranchu is for those who knows how to appreicate the swimming pattern and the grooming aspect of goldfish. surely u should know the best conditions for rearing tv alr before getting the tank. these best conditions will dictate the design of the tank. a mere 0.3FT difference seem insignificant if u are are just rearing for fun. |

Hey Grossman,
I feel it very difficult to appreciate a top view from the side. In fact, some look really ugly! Why not also persuade her for another tub as well? Regards |

get a 5 x 2.5 x 2.5 ft instead, then tell your wife the delivery men made a mistake. If you really like side view, broaden up your choice, instead of only ranchu, include oranda, ryukin, black moor, pearl scale etc. imagine a 5 ft tank with at least 9 goldfish (combo).

Wouldn't the tank be too deep for goldfish? How about 5 x 2.5 x 1.5 ft with 80% filled with water? You wouldn't want your goldfish to dive into the water often. For me I think 1 to 1.2 ft of water depth is just nice for goldfish. If I've the space at home, I would custom make a 6 x 2.5 x 1.5 ft tank with 4 x 1.5 x 1.5 ft sump tank and cabinet for 9 side view ranchu. That would be 188.78 gal of water if main and sump tank is 80% filled with water and around 20.98 gal/ranchu. |

QUOTE(Grossmann @ Tue 06 Jul 2004 09:21 PM) Can i use a 4FT x 1.5FT instead of 1.8FT width?? I cannot understand the 1.8 ft specification. Let's see. One point five feet (ie, 1 1/2 ft) is equals to 18 inches. How many inches is one point eight feet? Why is there a decimal point in inches? I have a strange feeling they meant to say 4 feet x 1 1/2 feet x 18 inches, and not 1.8 feet?! No? |

Hey...
No one has an answer? I guess I'm right then. "1.8 feet" is actually "18 inches". |
