No leh. Never see before. Ermm... I don't know chemistry but isn't Baking Soda a generic product? I mean... should a good one be 100% pure sodium bicarbonate? If so, then it all comes down to price. Is this one cheap? I'd say the design of the can in a can in a can is cute.

for my case now, i dun use any form of PH buffer for my greenwater...
so far so good.....just sticking to weekly water changes....

I use baking soda, not so much to buffer but to equalize during water change time the pH between the intensely green water (pH about 8.5) and the new treated tap water (pH about 7). Without using BS, I will subject my fishes to pH shock of 1.5, which is deadly for most fish and although only shock goldfish for an hour or two is still best avoided. If I run out of BS, then I have to slowly reduce the pH in the temporary holding tub by gradually introducing new water into it; a process that could take an hour.

i used to go w/o BS for my green water as well, but the pH tends to drop below 8 at nite, and during the day it hits 9+.

with BS, the pH during the day still hits 9+, but at least during the nite it remains above 8. end result is the pH fluctuation is lesser.

i still buffer abit as my 4ft tub is in the open, don't want to take a risk if it rains heavily within 2 days after water change before my green matures..

BTW regarding this, do take note to read the ingredient listed on all the baking soda's bottle. Some brands of "Baking Soda" contains other substance too for eg. Bake King brand. For me I use the Bake King brand's "Soda Bicarbonate".

ET and Vix... the Kings' brand specifically mentioned 100% Sodium Bicarbonate?

Which supermarket you guys bought it from? Cold Storage seems to have "Bake King" only and I find the plastic bottle very flimsy.
