Either my eyes are cocked or your photoghraphic skills need to improve.Does not look vertical.

Hmm.. let me guess.Looks like containing bio balls but not too sure on the small attachment.Suppose to increase DO by maximising contact area of water and air when water is filtered thru.

Just my guess.

Ah Tan! QUICK! Better paste this on your new "toy" IPB Image

happydance.gif

rofl.gif

Looks like denitrator lah. You need some time for the right bacteria to mature for it to work. See the water slowly drip drip drip can really puke blood. ATOS. Choco super experienced in this field because he has made 3 of this in his house liao yes.gif Confirm mastro in denitrator.

How much you buy?

hey, many here don't exactly "qualified" here as newbie when giving answer, that include Chinmo yeah....

yes it is a denitrator. wanted to DIY from a CO2 reactor but can't find a good size. no place for a big 4 inch PVC tube, scare leakage also.

by "NOT working" , i mean the built in dosing pump does not seem to draw water at the super slow rate. end up swirling the water in the cannister. i end up removing the built in pump, use a old submerged power head to push water via tubing to the cannister and regulate water flow with a air regulator.

no manual or instruction to follow some more. LFS no help also as they also donno how to setup and let alone use.

look like radioactive container huh? no wonder the rest of the customer look at me in awe while i was purchasing it at yishun. maybe tot i J I new recruit...

ask the LFS for freebies like plastic flow regulator and tubing; LFS happy to give as they finally found one nut to buy their only stock that is alien to them.

will let it run in stream for 2 weeks before lowering the flow to 1 drop per sec.
it is now in my sump tank.

this thing is supposed to treat 400 litre of water. my idea is to prolong the Freq of WC and not eliminate it. i read in the DIY thread is that once the anaerobic bacteria is matured after the initial 1 drop per sec, i could do this:

" Over time you will have to increase the flow rate as the filter matures and becomes more efficient. When your filter is fully mature your flow rate should be a steady stream."

thus achieve the prolonged WC i am looking for.

why faint? i believe he and u did some DIY previously but did not work so well.
i modify this alittle from its original setup, it is still running but intend to lower the rate down later after i got enough aerobic bacteria. got any tips?
