Would crushed tile make for good filter media?

The white porcelin type.

I just tiled my bathroom and I was thinking of crushing up the
scrap pieces and puting it in my filter.

i google for "crushed tile filter media" but no proper/successful results.

but do you know what are the inside those tiles ?

another fear factor might be the cement on those tiles, i not a smart person, so i wikipedia and read that Cement are made from...

QUOTE
Most cement kilns today use coal and petroleum coke as primary fuels, and to a lesser extent natural gas and fuel oil. Selected waste and by-products with recoverable calorific value can be used as fuels in a cement kiln, replacing a portion of conventional fossil fuels, like coal, if they meet strict specifications. Selected waste and by-products containing useful minerals such as calcium, silica, alumina, and iron can be used as raw materials in the kiln, replacing raw materials such as clay, shale, and limestone.

since i am on wikipedia, i search for White Porcelain and got it's materials..

QUOTE
Clay is generally thought to be the primary material from which porcelain is made, even though clay minerals might account for only a small proportion of the whole

Will it toxic, or promote BB growth ?

I was thinking a bunch of it crushed up in the bottom of a filter
may act like ceramic rings.

May be a good media due to its porosity. But the chemical compositions is a question mark.
If wanna try, suggest to soak it in tap water for at least a month;with water changes every week, before using.
