You may have read about the "war" among the many email hosts as such. To cut story, Gmail came up with a 1GM size FREE email account (invited members only). Yahoo joined in the fun to offer 100MB FREE account. Then, there were talks about Hotmail upgrading all FREE accounts to 250MB. However, Hotmail upgrading has been very slow and at this point of time, only a certain percentage of Hotmail users have been upgraded. Even in USA, not all users have been upgraded yet. So SG users might have to wait long long. How can a country full of kiasu ppl be satisfied with a pathetic 2MB account?!?!?! biggrin.gif

Here's how you can hasten upgrade to your hotmail account:

1. Login your Hotmail account. On the screen, check the top right of screen and click "Options"

2. Click on the "Personal " tab found on the left screen

3. On the same screen, click "My Profile"

4. Here's the most crucial part. Change your country to "United States". Then choose "Washington", and "98101" for ZIP code. And Click "Update" button

You can use other valid states/ZIP combi:
Washington \ 98101 (Tested with success!)
AUSTRALIA \ New South Wales \ 2365 (Tested with success!)
California \ 90089
etc, etc

5. You will see a "Your Profile Has Been Updated" window, if you have input in the correct fields. Your update will not be successful if you key in invalid State/ZIP Code. Click "Continue"

6. Lastly sign out of Hotmail.

The change will not be immediate. For me, it took about 3 days.

You can use other valid states/ZIP combi:
Washington / 98101 (Tested with success!)
New York / 10271
California / 90089
etc, etc

Or you can use this easy to remember ZIP code:

Beverly Hills, CA 90210

Nonit testing; sure valid.
