I am preparing a new tank 3 footer (200L) for my goldfish
i have 9 medium size ranchu want to know what size of cannister filter can i use, do i need a 2400l/hr filter or less in consideration of the water current. please feel free to advise. |

200L if you fill it to the brim,I think it is only abt 160 to 180L (depending on width). You are overstocking.Keep a max of 3 in the tank. If you want to use cannister or OHF,try not to exceed 4 times water turnover per hour to prevent excessive current.So if your capacity is 200L,the pump shd not exceed 800l/hr.However do take into consideration the head loss of the pump which should be available from the manual.There is normally a pump performance graph which shows the effective pumping capacity with ref. to the height that it is pumping. |

there are better filter out there suitable for goldfish and are also cheaper options.... OHF, sponge filter etc.... |
