It's true, my 30 cents goldfish tank has a water filter (I bought like 3-4 filters before settling for the roko boy filter), a heater, a thermometer and a ammonion alert sticker. and I also bought 3-4 plastic/glass tanks before settling with the current one.

I forgot one last point, tank size DOES matter, the larger it is (and with multiple feeding) the faster your goldfish grows and also the less water screwup u will get biggrin.gif

Goldfish is constipated now - hahhahhaa ate too much XO fishfood.. now eating the plants. Yes, plants, they worked very well for me - they helped with my tank cycling and feeding my "office" goldfish over the weekends and the home goldfish with day-feeding while I am at work ;)

feline, u started right, and do stay on the right path ok ?

U are doing alright and already ahead of many. Keep that up !

Anyway, a Malaysia breeder once told me when he saw my pearlscale ... this fish too small compare to what he got. I still tot I got a few real big one already. A size of a baseball ... he said, when u talking about Malaysia pearl, it is a size of sepak takraw.

That's my aim for 2006. $2 fish ... 5" size.

Infact I almost wanted to buy Ranchu lord to try out. Hahahahaa To be honest, my 30cent fish are alive and growing meant that I got my techniques right, so next time, I can invest in better fish. There is a learning curve mah and I do not want to kill additional lives by my ignorance smile.gif

it is true interms of quanity, but in terms of quality, it is a world of difference. The 30 cents fish does not have nice or good tails but right now, they have pretty scales and color smile.gif

I had seen PS of the size of a tangerine at 328 for sale.. huge man! But very very cute! However I have no room to keep them!

I had a very hard time locating good PS (according to my standard). Most of them are missing scales! or some with crooked dosal fins, some are too long... or the orange looks blah.

honestly, i bought the 30 cents goldfish out of whim, i wanted to see how they will develop and I got one black baby/feeder/2wks PS and one white with black eyes baby/feeder/2wks PS.

I think I had them for 3 mths (estimate) the black is now gold with bits of black still on the tail ends, rest of the body are all gold and it's not PS, it's a common with a BIG belly - well fed!

yes, I got junk fish smile.gif but they are a character on their own and it is a joy to watch them when I am in my cube. I talk to them ... imagine "aiyo, no more food liow lah, don't beg for food.. u too fat already" My IT support was behind my cube - who was overheard that, tot that I was telling the guy next to me that he is too fat!. good_very.gif brought entertainment to my other wise boring work life.

yeah, my 2 not fat enough yet. my office ones are FATTER biggrin.gif cos feed almost every 1-2 hrs during office hours.

multiple feeds does make them grow much faster. Office GFs grow much faster than the ones at home.

my goldfish injured itself - one of the scales came out and left a hole in its body. sian 1/2.

it's in isolation tank with some salt... when the hole looks less red and start healing then put it back into the main tank.

just realised that it might take a while ... my isolation tank is mini tank, may need to get a 1-2 ft one... got reason to go Fish Shop (to shop). biggrin.gif

1. tank is a closed tank with a ledge, the autofeeder - holder cannot fit.
2. always got phobia that the feeder will spoil, and not work like it should and all the food drop out.
// so far, the feeder sometimes turn and then drop insufficient food or sometimes just the reverse.

problem is the auto-feeder is too big for my 2 fishes, the min notch gives out too much, so i modified it and it does not work as well.
