Er..........in Singapore we dont need to go thru agents.I believe this Neo Ranchu guy is US based importing goldfish from Asia to cater for the domestic US market.
There are more than a hundred LFS in our tiny Singapore. |

This is a Singapore based website and the majority of forumers are Singaporeans.
I don't see how you could have offended anyone. I don't think there are any participants from Japan, cos most of them have a poor grasp of the English language. Do hang around, there are a wealth of info here if you go thru the old posts, but you may at times have difficulty understanding some of our lingos. |

As I live in Belgium, I never bought any fish from Neo Ranchu. But what I do know is that the owner is Mr. Stephen Carney. Neo Ranchu is the distributor in the US for Thai Ranchu Center. My very good friend, Tad, is the commercial director of Thai Ranchu Center. He told me that Mr. Stephen Carney is a very devoted and honest man. Tad also told me that he has a very good relation with Stephen Carney and that Thai Ranchu Center sends his best Ranchu to Neo Ranchu. So, I think it is safe to buy Ranchu from them. Regards, Geert Coppens |

I bought 4 red and white oranda from Stephen Carney ~9 months ago. He's a good guy & honest. His fish are much better than those from Petco & PetsMart or any local pet shops as you know goldfish is not very popular in the States. Eric. |

Hi, I just received five ranchu from NEO RANCHU, all I can say is there great, all are healthy eating well. Stephen is great to work with makes things easy. Here in Arizona you can't find ranchu of this quality. This site is great for us here in the USA. I'm humbled by the vast knowledge the people of this forum have. I appreciate the love and care you show are beloved ranchu. Peekachu.

Hi Everyone,
Are there any RG members in the New York area? I am currently keeping Ryukin but am looking to move over into Ranchu. My local shops only occasionally have Ranchu and even when they do the quality is very low. I would love to get some very young fry or even eggs as I really do enjoy bringing on the smaller fish. (I have worked for many years on large salt water fish farm recirculation systems in europe and was responsible for all fry growth). For me the raising of the fish is the best part of keeping fish, but it always better to be raising good quality fish rather than something which will never mature into anything nice. Anyway, thanks to everyone and happy fishkeeping Paul |

Hi Paul,
First of all, welcome to RG. I am from Brooklyn. I was searching for good quality ranchus for more than 4 months in NYC area. But I have no luck w/ yet especially with a good quality and small one. I went to almost every store. Here is a list of site that have a decent quality of fish but I still don't satisfy with the quality. http://neoranchu.com/ www.goldfishnet.com Importing from oversea is not an option since there is a new rule from gov that restrict importing goldfish. well what can we do? Dear Fred,
Many thanks for your reply, sorry to hear that you are in the same boat as me with regard to our Ranchu shortage. I have been looking for a while also, perhaps I should just stick with my Ryukins and be done with it? The government restrictions must be associated with SVC or KHV, I heard that restrictions were coming in but didnt realise they had already happened. I wonder if Ranchu eggs are covered by the same legislature? It could be a loophole that is worth investigating? Maybe eggs could be sent via overnight delivery? Of course the easiest option is to find a hobbiest who already has some nice fish in this area. I have heard there is such a person in the Rockland area, he visits the same fish shop as me but despite leaving him a couple of notes I have not heard back from him.... is there such a thing as a Ranchu stalker?!? lol Anyway, please keep in touch and let me know how you are progressing (or not). If I get any joy this end I will let you know. Have you looked in any of the shops in Chinatown? Best Wishes Paul |
