still dunno what's going on har ... this is not the local yue hwa show. not asia standard. just give it a thought. if your fish send to US or UK for competition, u think will win or not leh ?

send fish not what u like, but what the judges want.

what u have saw are fishes already in the hall over 36 hours. what the judges saw are fish about 18 hours ...... so when opens to public, more than 84 hours. so u think u see what the judges saw ?

got wat i mean ?

give u something to ponder .... this is not the actual criteria but close enough.

body : 25 pts
fins : 20 pts
color : 20 pts
style/performance : 10 pts
uniqueness : 25 pts

Go back to the hall, start your own judging.

with uniqueness standing at a quarter of the total, you know why that ryukin got the grand prize now ?

dun be disappointed. just imagine those that use thousands to buy fish and still lost to those less than 500 or maybe lesser.

look at the fishes again and understand the judging criteria. this will never be reveal to the public, and u got to figure it out from the fish and all the picture taken.

let's see, 4 judges - Indonesia, Singapore, Japan, HongKong.
*

aiyah....not disppointed with my own entries lah....
mine is a far cry from the standard...
i mean take the tunghoi "calico" for example....
and the white fish with red head and fins from Khittipan(Thailand)....
and not to mention William's Singachu....
also some nice fishes from unknown contestants....

feel dispointed for them....that bloody "calico" cost was RM9000 for the owner....
nice fish....but no trophy....
and also was told that Khittipan's fish was a Thai champ....but dunno which Thai comp lah....
ask him how much he wanna sell.....quoted me S$1500!!! ohmy.gif

if tats the standard of judging for this comp...
then the 3rd prize ranchu immediately lose 25 pts for body and 20 pts for fins liao...
body is long and uneven.....tail is deform, if tats wat u call(the top part are fused together).....

but probably it gained full 25 pts for uniqueness....ranchu with a unerected tail??

if i were to judge accordingly for the ranchu champ....here it goes...

body = 15 pts (back got kink and tail bone very thin...)
fins = 18 pts (2 pts off for being a single anal)
colour = 15 pts (fins are 90% white HOWEVER the contrast is a plus point...clean red and clean white)
style/performance = 10(fish is active and alert)
uniqueness= Thai fish bredin SG?? just a wild guess.... laugh.gif

i wont say anything about the 2nd prize fish....cos i was so in love with it before the Yuehwa comp when i saw it at BLUE Aq......hehehehehehehehe
should have bought it for $650 at that time!

Ya hor.....and I dont have any re-collection of noticing it as well.Maybe its a bit small to attract my attention.Spent too much time admiring the Tunghoi Calico liao..........
Nice piece.

On the other hand,I remember seeing a small deformed top view piece.Next to a small black fish if I remember correctly.Heh heh heh, and I though that my fishes are going to be the William Hungs.

Well, if we really want to argue, white fish is coloured fish.White colour.Just like milk.
Colour code in accordance to the British Standard for White is BS00E55.
The defination for no colour is 'colourless', or 'clear'.Like air.

Yo doc,
Is this one from your self bred? Looks good leh.Cheeks seems to be growing.

This is what I call 'kaypoh bo lang kong lee kiang, tapi tai tio kan!!'

But the requirement to reduce pic to 500width and 72dpi seems to have made the pics more blur leh.

Anyway, I know nuts when it comes to photography. I specialise in pornography.........
