Every 2 years. Since 2003, it's 1 year in Singapore, 1 year in China.

in 1999 and 2001, some prizes are won by individuals. however, during then, most prizes are won by lfs.

since goldfish hobbyists increases drastically in the past 2 years, hopefully some of these individuals can maintain their passion and dedication. Maybe one fine day, the RG will be taking the international stage. A lot of hardwork, be prepare for it.

Looking at the running of the competition, one will deem it as a success in terms of participation and turnout (Human speaking)However in terms of husbandry and maintenance of the competition fish, there is much to be desired.(Fish Speaking)
Many of the gorgeous and hugh fish cramped in that confined environment without proper monitoring will inevitably result in deteriorating health and even death as the days go by.Perhaps you need to conduct a post mortem of the event to minimise both mortality and morbidity of all competition fishes. So perhaps Matrix you can kindly convey this message since you are part of the organising committee.Nice meeting you at the event Matrix, perhaps we will cross path again in the near future.......

I know that many will not be happy with the following remark : "if hobbyists can not win any awards at big Shows, it is because they do not try hard enough ! Do not complain, ACT !!!!!

Well said. I tried, and tried and tried. Each time there are a lot of things to learn, to understand and to acknowledge.

In such a show, it is always cruel. 266 fishes, 17 winners and a grand chamipion. Every 14 fishes, 1 winner. If u really go thru the class, 70 ranchu, 3 winners. A ratio of 1 winner in 23 fishes.

It's over now, 2007 May 24th is still a distant away. Not too soon to prepare for it, not too far to ignore it. I hope to see the same people or even more throwing in the challenge to the big lfs and high end foreign players. Not forgetting to continue making new friends and bonding with the local hobbyists.

How would you suggest ?

Here are a few restrictions .... entry fee, tank sponsorship, floor space, filtration sponsorship, duration. It's a International Trade show, one dun bench-in and out on the same day. World industry organisations, journalists, editorial, press travelled thousands mile to attend.

Does all participants trust the organisers to handle their fishes ? Or will the participants head straight to the hall daily anytime during the show to maintain their tanks ?

There are a lot of factors, not easy to address without the big sponsors support. perhaps, perhaps ..... perhaps
