Please comment on these 2 side view ranchu. The pictures are not clear cos taken with a phone camera and the ranchu are quite active. Both around 2.5-3 inches.

Looks like from Qi Kim Hu. He claims that this is showclass. I also bought 2 from him. Qian Hu's recent batch from Thailand also has such quality, at a lower price. I am still trying to figure out what is showclass standard. However, nice pieces though; smooth curved back and even colour distribution.

can show pictures of the 2 u bought?

how much u bought each or both?

the 1st ranchu already have a buffalo head and can see the square head from top view

the second one is uncertain whether it will have a buffalo head but i like the red-white colour, especially red colour cover it top part of the body and white at the bottom

Hi there. Here's a comment from a newbie: Good, but for me the tail looks quite big especially the 2nd one. It's a bit high, isn't it?

Apology if I'm wrong.

Hi Sheringam,

If these are from QKH,are they from the middle tank on the left hand side from the shop (the tank below the white fishes)?

On the contrary,I very much admire the piece which is red and white. The setting of the tail maybe abit low but some of the LFS promote this feature.I'm not too sure whether this is an acceptable norm in terms of the standard of judging but ultimately it boils down to personal preference. This fish is still very young and the color much to be desired. With proper grooming, plus TLC included,I hope to see this fish in the future to assess the skill of the keeper which is more important.

it all depend on the grooming skill of owner now to exploit their full potential in order to realise and justify the premium value paid.
