Green Water: Not Telling
Country: UK

I have kept goldfish for 2 years.
I started the usual ( well for the uneducated uk ) way of keeping the fish.
small tank...too many fish etc...........

I have learnt so much from this site.

I have a 50 us gallon tank.
It housed5 goldfish , white clouds , Hillstream loach.
It also had gravel , plastic plant , bogwood etc.....
I strugglled and so did the goldfish.

thanks to you guys i realise what is involved in rearing goldfish ( thanks to goldrush....cp....the matrix.....to name a few )

my tank is now bare...water changes bigger and more regular.....and the fish are thriving more than i have ever seem.

So all I want to say is a big thanks to this site and its members

stooeygee, it is okay to shelf the "designed" tank for now. Allow yourself more time to understand the basic before moving the deco back to the tank. Nice to have, tough to maintain. A simple design can make an impact and enhance your appreciation of Goldfish.

Just some decorated tanks ....

But please take note that those pictures were taken from competition/show. For that day only. The owners certainly do not keep their fishes that way.

Matrix, the intention to share ideas of the fun on goldfish keeping is good. But this would probably cause some confusion to other newbies who have started to believe in bare tank concept

I totally agree , I just have totally bare bottom shiok.gif and a blue background. The fish look more beautiful than ever ( although they arent anything special , apart from my crown pearlscale good_very.gif )

I may just put a couple of bubble walls in.....no more.

And the amount of crap that was still in the gravel when I removed it !!!! beg2.gif
No wonder the fish were struggling !!!

It just taught me that however thorough you are with your gravel cleaning , it is still very easy to leave a load of crap behind.

Anyway , absolutey great site good_very.gif good_very.gif good_very.gif good_very.gif
