All 3 falls into same family of Dragon Eyes varieties.

Black Moors - black is the key. Moor you can search dictionary. This variety referred to a black dragon eyes. Be it short or long tail, traditional or fanciful varieties, all go into the name of a black moor. Quite a numbers of different between body, eyes and tail shape within the same small group.

Telescope or globe is somehow given name by the western world. Demekin is name given by Japan. So all refer to the same old Dragon Eyes or Protruding eyes. This can be any color combination except a black.

So if a Dragon Eyes is not black, it's not a black moor. Simple ?

When comes to dragon eyes, there are a lot of special names to label their uniqueness. In fact, these names are used on some other varieties.

Panda - only used on Dragon eyes with black/blue/white coloration.

12-Red, 12 black, 12 brown, 12 grey, 12 green - originally used for 12 parts of the fish fins and features with same color and the rest are white.

A Panda 12-black is considered the highest grade fish. Extremely difficult to get and price would go into 5 digits for a large one.

I love the DragonEye fish. They truly come in a rainbow of colors.

The black and white telescope is about 5 years old. He is male, about 8 inches nose to tail. He has won every show he has been entered into.

Unfortunately, his eyes have developed uneven balance within the last year and I do not show him any more.

All my fish are either imports purchased from dealers at various shows I have attended, or, in the case of the blue and the albino, they were traded for - my male fish for breeding services in return for some fry from my fish.

I have raised 5 fry from the panda's breeding, and every one of them goes tri-colored after about 1 year. Very disappointing. He was a 1/2 incher that turned my head at a show years ago. I have never found a nice one since. I keep looking.....

I love raising them from little guys to be the big fellows of the tank. yes.gif

I prefer to keep only male fish and do not enjoy breeding. I have many in my clubs and such that do. We "trade" fish for those purposes and the "pick of the litter" is often the payment of choice.

Daryl, u got some exotic fish. Albino is expensive here. You got a blue brown and a tricolor fish. Nice.

Just a comment, all the fish lack of bulk of a solid dragon. Feed them well to build up the body shape.

Actually I am waiting for someone to ask why show a broken torn tail fish ... hahahahahaha.

dun drool, buy 1. dragon eyes is not as popular as ranchu over this part of Asia. Affordable, just get one.

The body mass catch my attention.
Fin can grow back mah.
Saw a few similar dragon eyes at Pasr Ris, but somehow, their body don't seem nice, so nvr buy.
