Not mine, but have consider buying them. But then again, too expensive. Have to be raised in big pond, otherwise the quality of the ranchu will drop. Actually I am looking for he smaller sized SVR to enter for the competition.

In other words, these ranchus belonged to someone else and they are for sale.

I certainly hope that these postings are not meant to be an indirect marketing/advertisment for the owners.This is by and large a hobbyists' forum, commercial trading and marketing are frowned upon.

It is perfectly acceptable if these are your fishes and you are posting them for our 'viewing pleasure' or comments, or putting them up for sale in the 'Buy & Sell' sub-forum fishes that belonged to you.

Is there a rule in RG that says you are not allowed to post or share pictures of ranchu that do not belong to you?

This statement did not concur with the fact that the ranchus are 'long gone by now', until you had mentioned it.
I read it as " these ranchus were offered for sale to me, but being too big and expensive,I did not buy them.Actually ,I am looking for smaller size ranchus to enter the competition".

No harm,but there is no need to do so either.There are thousands of nice pictures on the net where one can view; and furthermore,it is usually easier to provide a web link if forumers wish to inform others where nice pics can be found.

I think you get my point.Essentially we just want a forum free from commercial intents, that's all.My apologies if your intents are strictly from a hobbyist's point of view in the first place.

All these photos are all taken personally and there is no web reference. If you guys feel that my personal collection of ranchu photos are not worth sharing or the quality of the ranchus are too lousy to be posted in this forum, then I shall stop doing so.

- It is perfectly alright to post pictures of nice fishes for others' "viewing pleasure".

- It is also OK to do so even if the fishes do not belong to you. Unless there's strong objection from the owner of the fishes, which in such cases, we'll take down the pictures.

- It is inappropriate to post pictures of your fishes asking for comments in RG, and when receiving some good responses, sells it somewhere else, with references to the good comments received here.

- It is wrong and against forum's guidelines for commercial entities or even their "local agents" (on behalf of the commercial entities) to post pictures of fishes intended for sale, as this is clear cut "posting pictures with a commercial agenda". Same applies to member who offers to act as middleman to bring in fishes in bulk from another country, posting pictures of fishes he promise to get.

It is part of our moderators' mandatory responsibilities to protect our members from the claws of commercial entities, and to keep RG as commercial-free as possible.

Since you have made your intention clear, then it is alright. But such misunderstandings can be avoided if you have specified earlier that the fishes do not belong to you... And no commercial agenda intended.

No need to worry as only ranchu No 4 is in Singapore. That was one year back. Not sure how ranchu has grown?
