Bought them straight from a LFS so they might not have been in the pink of health

To follow up on this thread, green water cultivation was successful both indoors and outdoors. Difference is indoor cultivation takes much much longer. Took me about 2 full weeks before green water appeared. Outdoor only took me less than a week and also saved me a big electricity bill.
A follow up question to the experts here. When you do your weekly water change, do you clean the tank or do you just replace the water. I find that the tank has quite a bit of sediments at the bottom and also have the algae at the sides especially at the line where the water line is. I have been leaving them as it is but trying to suck as much of the dirt when I do my water change but not completely remove them. |

I clean the tub thoroughly. To some extend, I change tub that has been dried for weeks.

Just transferred one of my ryukins which was in the outdoor tub for about a month now back to the indoor clear tank. It had put on quite a bit of bulk, colour was also a lot more intense.
Next going to put a black ranchu outside and see the results. Somehow I don't find my indoor green water has the same effect |
