Green Water: Not Telling

hi i am starting out in raring goldfish..

i am getting gravels for my tank..

i have read many articles

1 said that large gravel is better so goldies dont get choke as they cant suck...
another
1 said that large gravel is not good as goldies might get choke..

i am intending on using those gravel that is is brownish and stonish lookalike, small in size ... and putting marbles on top... so as to prevent my goldfish from sucking them up and eating them while picking up fabris of food..

the reason i am putting gravels is because it make my fish tank look better and
i am kind busy to keep sucking up faeces that is rested on the bottom of the fish tank..

so any suggestion?

Hi javanoob,

Welcomd to RG.

As for your question... Well, most of us here advocate BARE TANK. Meaning.. tank, water, working filter, fishes and air stone. That's for easy handling and tank maintenance. And reduce the chances of the harbouring of harmful bacteria in the dark corners. In a bare tank, if you have a working bio filter, you won't see plenty of faeces floating around.

If you still want to go ahead with a stone decorated tank, please take a look at how gohks set up his tank.
