further info:
The idea is do 10% water change daily (can set different cycle; daily, every 2nd, 3rd or 7th day with duration 1-120min). The operation sequence is 1) timer stop the pump, said at at 20.00 2) timer start open drain water timer & close filter inlet water timer at 20.01 for 10 min (depend flowrate) 3) timer start open inlet water timer at 20.12 for 10 min (depend flowrate) 4) timer start the pump back after 20.20 The gardena water controller can control up to 6 valve. |

Thanks for comment.
I thought abt the anti-chlorine and high nitrate level. Thus, what about having 50% water change every 2 days cycle and using eheim automated doser dose anti-chlorine directly to tank? Kent |

CP,
Can't do 100% as the fish still in the tank. Only able to drain off 80-90% water with fish still in the tank. For the eheim auto doser, i am not sure it can do dosing for 7 days cycle. Maybe need to find other doser with this function. Any idea ? Regards Kent |

Any idea ? 80 to 90% good enough. As for the doser, I think no need to get one.Manual dosing once a week should not be a hassle. |

very interesting gadgets.
For the anti-chlorine, you can always look for liquid solution. Get another valve and automate it. Depending on your Run Time setting, you could set to the lowest possible time. However, the liquid antichlorine would need to be further dilute to enable the automated process. do weight the cost of implementation. |

how about a overflow system at the filter? Then you can just use the timer in the water supply.

If you have interest on the water timer, pls go to www.gardena.com , the product is orignially for automated irrigation system for garden.
The price of a "watering control system 4040" cost about €40, 24V irrigation valve cost €30 each. Thus whole system may cost €100 or S$230. As i am still in europe now, i only get the pricing in euro. If anyone found such product in Spore or msia, pls let me know. For anti chlorine, i am thinking to dilute the anti-chroline in to a small water container and use another control valve to dose it. For this system, an overflow line is require to ensure my living hall wounld get wet. My another worry is the dirty water outlet may cause the outler valve fail to function properly after some. time. |
