Using Test Kit In Green Water, How to read your data? Options

Good morning

It is a matter of fact that we can’t determine water suitability for our fish just by looking, smelling and even tasting it.Yet many different characteristic changes can occur within a body of water without any significant changes in its appearance and has a definite impact on the health of our fishes.Without doubt test kits are instrumental in alerting fish keepers with regards to the quality of our water for our fishes.
Test kits are presented in different forms with respect to the reagent used and all are colormetric in nature…ie it produce a reaction in response to the level detected by the test in question.Now the most often used,I believe is the liquid reagent kit.Others will include the dry tablet form and the dip-strips form which can measure several parameters at one go.Now having said that and presented a short introduction, I am just wondering how on earth you guys who practice green water management read a colourmetric reading off a green water specimen without a possible misinterpretation?Don’t you think the base color green will somehow obscure or interfere with the color changes to be measured against a standard data chart.Can some experienced bros here enlighten us on how to avoid this error.
We must remember that having gathered all our datas,we must be able to interpret and act upon. Otherwise there is no benefit at all to be gain from this frivolous testing in the first place other than be amazed with some spectacular color changes…
