In our local context, ability to keep for 3 years or more is an achievement.Goldfish here do not go thru a dormant period of hibernation during winter which may have acceralated its lifespan in some sense.

The oldest goldfish on record was a fish named Tish which reportedly lived for 43 years

http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/conten...?recordid=51371

10-25 years are not uncommon

but overhere we tend to peak the fish too fast resulting in early deterioration and hasten degeneration.

We just can't maintain its peak for long blush.gif

Anyone has that 长生不老 elixir please let me know good_very.gif

Those went to Bukit Timah competition, should have noticed a video playing on the big screen. There was a segment on this fish and the old couples.
