It has been a year since I kept this fish and just over 2 months since I updated on it.This afternoon happen to fish out the fish for some appreciation.It has reached 18 cm biggrin.gif Wonder it will reach 20cm by year end rusure.gif But growth has slowed to almost a halt mad.gif

I am crazy about calicos.... and ranchus and this fish is an absolutely beautiful combination of the two!!! Vibrant color, great form and balance, and awesome headgrowth (especially for a calico). Thank you for sharing this fish with the rest of us.

In that case, do you and how you 'detox' the live tubifex before feeding them to your fishes?

I do not detox the worm with anything.I have read some who "detox" thro dettol,listerine,pp ,anti parasites med, and wat have you rusure.gif Now all these are poison(READ THE HEADINGS:DO NOT SWALLOW).All these are topical medications and not for oral ingestion.So imagine feeding these so called disinfected worms to your fishes.....they will be in trouble.Some may not exhibit immediate signs but culmulative exposure or continual ingestion could prove fatal in the very near future.


Yet at the end of the day we blame the worms for our fish fatality which infact we are the culprit in poisoning our fish in the first place!!!!!! hmm.gif

If you really need to disinfect I think the safest is still SALT
