Wen Accidentally Siphoned Options

I accidentally siphoned my oranda's headgrowth/wen during water change... now the wen becomes disorganised... a big hole... Will the wen grow back??

i'm using as the attached... but without the gravel cleaning stuff...

OMG void!
You have had such a bad run of luck lately!
So sorry to hear what happened, but I've done the same thing in the past
and my fish recovered and the wen regenerated.

yeah... the day when everything goes wrong... but try not to look back... learn positively from these experiences.... (hiks... it's difficult... but trust me... i'm trying...)

Instead of swimming away, it's natural for goldfish to swim with the current's flow. As long as you're siphoning water, you run the risk of injuring your fish.

Do what I do. Get one of those plastic tank separator screen (commonly used in LH's tank). Then when you need to change water, partition a small section of your tank making sure no fish is in it. Now you can siphon your heart out. Spray tap water into that partition if you like. The many little holes on the partition act like a wave breaker and definitely prevents your fishes from getting close to the siphoning hose. Done right, your fishes won't even know something is happening to their water - no stress.

one other way is simply save a pail of old water first and place all the fish into the pail before u start siphoning. of caz throw in an air-stone. i have 8 fish in my tank, how to siphon when they swiming ard?? if u take them out, u can even scrap and clean for watever u want. then it also allow u to change up till 90% of tank water without stressing the duds to splash ard and drop scales. then it also allow u to conduct water parameter test with you new water, e.g. if there are bio materials, dun be suprise after water change, some parameters can be high.

then of caz again, if u are just doing 10% 20% changes, pat yourself on the back that u have just wasted 1 minute reading my crap

Wow lau, who so bo leow change 10-20% each time? Unless done on a daily basis ... that's a waste of time man.

I think there are people who does that, lucky I change 25% of water each time . But at times I like to use mountain method when I want to change media or what.
