The first piece looks more pleasing. Good smooth curve. However it is inbalanced. Might have or is already showing head down syndrome. Tail looks slightly big too. Picture unclear but I suspect those are blood streaks at the tail. Not sure, but looks like there is a tear at the tail tip

Did the 2nd fish just recovered from fin rot? The edge of pelvic fin is black, which suggests that it is not living in a good environment. Probably just recovered from sickness or it is stressed. There also an unfortunate cut at the tail. Not a good speciment.

Great headgrowth on these fish.

How old are they?

Puts me in mind of Uno TVRs. They have similar headgrowth, especially on the cheeks/funtan, although that's the end of the similarity to Uno TVR.

Overall nice fish. Especially No 1.

it's really difficult how to show you all in the photos how the first fish buffalo head vibrates when it swims.

I think the fish is about less than a year, theyre 8cm long. and they are very reactive too

this is #1 now, she has become more solid, her wen doesnt move anymore as she swims...

she's been laying eggs...... and i feel its getting very difficult now for her to pass 10cm body length. I put her in 5ft tank w/ other 4 ranchus..

5ft 5 ranchus < 10cm is a luxury, mine 1ft 2 ranchus of size ~ 15cm biggrin.gif

Fish should grow to ~ 16cm, if good ~ 18 - 20cm (if not genetically retarded) if you do it right. yes.gif
Clue: Pump the right food with lots of exercise in clean fresh water wink.gif
