No way!

I had a black ranchu that turns copper in about 2 months as I delibrately kept it in my community tank with a relatively high pH. But it was cooper! Your fish was intensely orange.

How could it be possible?

Goosh! This is so cool!

I noted most black ranchu has a "lionhead" kind of headgrowth. If I can get a Black Ranchu with a typical ranchu headgrowth, I'd be one happy man.

it has been in my hospital tank for more than a month. daily water changes. the pH in AMK is quite high. 7.8 maybe the high pH brought it up.
it was attacked by my rainbow ranchu while in the main tank. When the wen grew back, it was black too. now my mum says this fish looks good as a black ranchu. All i did was to treat it. Quite high salinity in the hospital tank though, might be the salt. I dunnoe. ohmy.gif
