Green Water: Yes

monitor parameters from water change, till brown algae appear, may show a clue to what is the prob.

the only time i experience brown algae is when i don't change water for a few months, only 5% topup a day due to evaporation.

seems like kois don't like to eat brown algae too hysterical.gif

The presence of brown algae is just an indicator of something is amiss very much like a thermometer telling you that you have a fever but it does not tell you exactly what's wrong. So for a start, like ET pointed, the parameters have to be addressed........That's the basic.Of all the algae(Green,brown,blue-green)you may encounter, only green is acceptable. The green is another very realiable indicator that everything is in GOOD order...
