Woo hoo! Now have smooth road into mainland? I just might go ML more often leow!
Yeah, you must replace your damaged rim hor. I'd suggest you also closely inspect the tire as well. It may be a rubber thingy but is actually lined and held in shape with wires. The wires can break after severe impact and effectively you'd be driving on a ballon. Don't play play. |

well, few months back, my tires 'exploded' for no apparent reason when i was going at just 70km/h, and i went onto the centre divider with 2 left wheels on my side of the road, undercarriage rubbing thru'out the 20m long cement kerb, and the 2 right wheels on the oncoming traffic road, abeit in the air... sheesh...
if in doubt, change the damn thing, instead of hearing sarcastic remarks from the servicing morons who cook up helluva story... car warranty/extended warranty protection? load of bull... |

That's not as dramatic as a friend of mine who drove an Opel Omega. The tire exploded (he could pin point it easily as the torn-up tire is obvious after it happened) and the whole car fell into the Bukit Timah longkang near First Avenue. When he regain composure, he worried sick that he might find the swat team pointing machine guns at him coz the loud explotion could be mistaken as a terrorist attack at the PM's house! Surpisingly the car escape serious damage even though it plunged 10 feet down! Solid german engineering, I'd say. Yeah, just replace the damn tire when in doubt; it's the only thing that keeps you firmly on the road. Sports rims are just cosmetic toys; the tire is more important. |
