Ph 10, Is this possible? Options

First green water try.
Outdoor setup. Water became green in 3 weeks only, possibly because it was pretty cool in February here in Melbourne.
On Day 10-18 ammonia level was reeeally bad, more than 8ppm, but red cap oranda still alive and rather well now.
When ammonia level dropped to 1ppm, I measured PH with digital tester and got about 10.5
Ph test kit gave more that 9 as well.

Well, could anyone confirm if this PH level is usual for green water setup?

I also warry about water change. My tap water is about Ph 6.9, how fish will carry such a Ph crash. I don't remember that Gurus recommended baking soda usage for water change.

try measuring the pH at midnight or before sunrise

Should I warry about Ph crash when moving fish to clean water during water change?

normally i'll keep them in the remainder 5-10% of the green water. then top up the rest with fresh water so that the ph change is not sudden.
