Hi Guys,
I need help. I recently setup a 30 gallon tank, fully cycled using a 1000L/H Hang on the Back Power Filter. I purchase 2 small black moores (named Demi and Roger ) they are about 1 inch per fish. The tanks has minimal substrate in it (gravel) and a couple of underwater live plants. I initially thought that the power filter is ok with the setup since when I went to the petshop, they asked me how many gallons do I have and upon knowing that I own a 30 gallon tank, she recommended this type of filter (the precission PF-750 power filter) without asking me what type of fish I have. She also said that if i purchase a higher rated filter it would make my fish dizzy. Anyway, I trusted her and bought it and successfully mounted it to my aquarium. Now when i finally added the fish. I notice that the current is somewhat stronger since i could see the fish being pulled if they rested near it. there is a part however (near the plants) where it is quite stable (the plants seem to be stationary). My question is, do i need to purchase a lower powered filter (like lesser the 1000L/h) i'm afraid that my 2 lack moores can not withstand such current or is my current power filter design for bigger black moores?. I attached a photo (bad lens ) for a visual. |
