Ah Tan.. I know what you mean.. but you see beh innovative laugh.gif

This encircled portion in picture below is where they mean the kink is. But IMHO, the kink is not so serious one.

Bro Domho7, the back view I mean is the view with the tail and anal fin facing the camera (your avatar). Actually just wanna know if the anal fin is black and how the tail open up.

Bro Domho7,

Just found out that this type of ranchu is called "APACHE Ranchu".
The better breed are those with black topping and full black couloured fins. The remaining colour of the body is to be in ORANGE. If the remaining colours are in red and white (The "tri-coloured" I mentioned initially), then most probably they are bred from Hong Kong.

So you have gotten yourself a gem. good_very.gif
Try maintaining the dark black colour as it is the hardest part to maintain

The greatest challenge for keeping this type of fish will be to maintain the combination of colour at the present stage.
Most likely it will either turn to full black or change to full red/orange depending the water condition.
If I am not wrong especially the pH....
high pH ---> Red/orange, low pH ----> Black.

Hi guys,

I am new to this forum.

I may have the same fish that you are talking about.

Please share your view (the pic may not be great).

Yah it is ABOUT the same type. Except that it is quite a defective apache. sorry.
Anyway, as you can see the black colour quite faded already. That's the problem I was talking about. Very hard to maintain the charcoal black colour.

Bro Domho7 will have a perfect apache ranchu if not for the slight kink.
If no kink, then can ask him to kill it, anti-decompose it and put in National Museum as a Apache Ranchu specimen for all goldfish bro to admire rofl.gif

The name not I come up one wor. I was at HOR when their last stock came in. There were about 5 of such ranchus. So I pointed to the one Shawn kept in his Show Grade tank and ask him about such ranchu. I have been keeping a lookout for this type since I first saw one in "Fish Love". And he told me it is "Apache". (Should be this spelling lah laugh.gif ) It is the same pronunciation as the helicopter name.

Also cannot find this in the internet. He is expert in Thai ranchu so I give it to him that he is correct lor. He also told me a few tips in choosing such ranchu.

A lot of ppl say he quite tua kang... but talking to him so many times, I think he is very knowledgeable in Thai ranchus and is more than willing to share knowledge. I merely repeat what he told me wor unsure.gif

Oh, maybe it's not Apache (like that american helicopter biggrin.gif) but a thai word that sounds like "Apache."

Any thai here can confirm this?

To others, it's a Tie Bao Jing (铁包金)... unless the special pattern with the black strips on top is a special variety. unsure.gif
