I thought of starting to make green water, after reading some of the post,to my understanding i must have aleast a 7000 Kelvin PL lamp without any filter and a air supply.I must feed the goldfish in order to produce ammonia.
Question1 Let say after 2-4 day,the water turn green, must i still feed my goldfish or just leave it alone? From Happybuddha :To say Green Water is god's gift to goldfish is not an understatement. It takes care of filtration, nutritions, and the general well-being of our pet. Practically the only thing you have to watch out for is the lower DO at night and a religious habit of weekly water change. Green water takes care of the rest. Question 2 Too green is no good for the goldfish because is due to oxygen burn and ammonia. So how did all of you change to green water? Is it the same as certain percentage of the green water replace with new clear water like normal fish tank??? |

I have a problem with fish in green water not eating as much as my other fishes.
Strangely I feed the fishes in green water and normal tank at same interval and same amount for each. But whenever I scoop the poos out of the green water, I see a lot of uneaten pellets and tubeflex worms. And it seems they have eaten less than half of the pellets I feed them. |

Not eating much has to do with ammonia level meh? I heard it is due to the fish already feed on the floating algae so they have no appetite for other food liao. But I would rather they eat the pellets because I want to pump them up quick. And I don't know if the rest of the bro has this same situation so I ask here.
Another strangely thing hor... The poos not green leh. How come ah? I saw a lot of fishes that just came from farms has these dark greenish poos. Mine still the brown brown one leh. |
