Area For Green Water?, How big we need for Green Water?? Options

Hi, wanna starts using Green Water but I am not sure whether how big we need to cultivate them??

I saw the posts by Bros here that a Guppy tubs does a good job but some use 2FT tank as well..

Any limitation for this issue here??

I tried to cultivate green water in blue tub wif 2 fishes.

But after 4 days become algea water leh.

hi guys n gals have been trying to post msg 3-4 times liao if u c any of my msg please inform me. i don't know where mgses gone to anyway the following is for bro HB , 1. lets assume we start green water in 3" of water and hey presto 6th day green water ok now can we keep it going by diluting it with de-chlorinated tap-water n postponing/cancelling oxygen burn to our precious gfs??? N 2.can we pour some of this green water into the main tank for the other gfs i know that the filter will get rid of the green water but at least they can have it for awhile (wait a minute will it cause algae bloom???) n 3.lets say we must start green water again.How much green water can we use to seed the new water???of cause the more we use the faster it will be heheheh. i have not started on green water yet but being lazy i am trying to find lobang /short-cut to cultivation of green water hehehe dear HB for enlightenment please

I think that will work... but wouldn't the water in your tub eventually overflow? It's still best to discard the old green water and start afresh weekly. If the weather condition is such that your green water turns too intensed, diluting by siphoning out some will be fine.

If I'm not wrong, the fish need to be in the green water for at least 3-4 weeks before you will see any noticable change.

As a general rule, a 5% seed should be okay. Experiment with the percentage to find out how to balance how quickly the water turns intensely green and your work schedule. Over time you'll learn to make changes to even accomodate forcasted weather condition. of course.... this is not necessary if you use artificial lightings.

• u have provided a chart for us on green water,how critical is it for us to follow this chart .if the gfs get oxygen burn -- how fast will they feel it (hows the symtoms like) n will they die.??most importantly is there any remedy??

Oxygen burn is really a problem for outdoor green water pond. So far I only know one bro experienced it (a few times!) If I'm not wrong, the fish won't die directly becoz of oxygen burn (correct me if I'm wrong). I don't know what's the remedy except to correct the water condition and let the fish heals itself.

i'm one of the few who experienced O2 burn in a indoor (actually is balcony) tub. nothing deadly, just some damaged fins which recovered quite quickly.

just change water when the green is too intense lor
