Green Water: Not Telling
Country: Singapore

Been reading up on Green Water - including those in the FAQs. I installed an outdoor water feature about 2 weeks ago - no filteration, just pump. Around 350l, with 5 goldfish. feeding about 2-3 times a day. The water feature gets about 3 hours of direct sunlight a day - the rest of the day it is shaded. Still no green water. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

What is the volume of water and if you are not using filtration, what is the function of the pump? Did you do any water change between these 2 weeks?

Volume - 350 litres.

Pump - this is a water feature, so it has a fountain in the middle..... Water change - just added water last weekend

You might want to decrease the amount of water for the time being, coz 3 hrs of sunlight per day is too short and you are also having a low bio load. Once the green water is kick started, you can top up to the normal amount again.
Try not to change water for the time being until you see a thin color of green, but do watch your fish closely. The stretched process will stress them.
