Not just overcrowded, but mixing with discus, gourami , and is it barbs or tetras ........

Fishes look healthy though.

Thanks for the compliment. Yes, there are discus, clown loach, congo tetra and rainbow fishes as tank mate. Took the risk but somehow they are all living and growing happily together.

Not only your fish packed into tight space. Very healthy and colour very vibrant red too.
U mentioned somewhere that water is pumped in from your koi pond.
Can u elaborate as this is very interesting to know?

Wow...in such a confined space. It's a wonder the fish are big in size and vibrant in colours too. If you hadn't mentioned about the water supply from the Koi pond...my first thought would be 'there's just no way'. However, now with your explanation, it makes perfect sense. Good job.

Thanks for the compliments. I am able to maintain the well being of the GFs by using the water from my Koi pond. If you look carefully at the back of the tank in blue tiles is the Koi pond. What I did was add another pump to pump up the water from the pond to the goldfish tanks. So they are both sharing the same filter system. Of course I must make sure that the filtering system is able to support all the fishes in the pond and the tank.

The water fr the tank ... it goes back into the pond or directly into the pond filter?
Your system is good for the vibrant colours & your fish healthy looking... is it good for growth too?
How often u feed & how much?
The water seems turbulent but does not seem to have adverse effects.

Yes. That's a very interesting question. In the past, it was always assumed that fish growth is dependent on the environment you house them in, ie. keep them in a small tank, and they don't grow...and vice versa. Spacefish, have you kept all these fish in this aquarium since you first bought them and have they growth much since then? If so...then perhaps the theory of the small aquarium=small fish can be somewhat dispelled. That being the case, the theory about concentrated levels of pheromones in the water may be more plausible in explaining growth retardation in fish.
